This week we were able to visit the Hartford, CT temple Open House! It's an absolutely beautiful temple, and we were able to bring some people who are investigating our church, and teach and show them a little more about what we believe.  It was a great experience. 

I hear that my neighbor Mrs. Kathy went to college up here in Danbury Ct. Mrs. Kathy this week I'm gonna get a picture of the college and send it! I think it's Western Connecticut State? I hope you'll like it!

There's a ton of Brazilians and Hispanics up here, so I get plenty of time when I couldn't speak English even if I wanted to! Sometimes people will understand a few words in English, so I can just say the words I don't know in English...but a lot of the time those we talk to don't know anything. 

This is why I absolutely love teaching English Classes!  I already really like teaching, and being able to make SUCH a drastic difference in someone's life by helping them with something that is so easy for me is so great.  These people can barely find work because they can't speak our language. Most of them get stuck in construction or landscape jobs because that's just the culture and where the Portuguese/Spanish speakers are.  I'm so glad i can help them find better lives through language, and through God too! .....People tend to be much more receptive to learning English than learning about our religion.  That's okay, though.

I love teaching the gospel.  Not everyone listens, and not everyone cares about us. But it's the strangest thing. Most everyone believes in God, and that we are His children.  I don't know if our church is different, or what, but I just have this insane love and desire to share with my brothers and sisters  what makes me so happy!  What I believe to be true.  And it's even cooler because heck don't you take my word for it! Ask God! He answers prayers!  So when we share our unique message about the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and Modern-Day Prophets, and the Book of Mormon, I don't want them to believe just me when I tell them it's true.  I believe it with all my soul, but not because my parents told me it was true. I believe it because I prayed and i asked God. He told me. He keeps telling me.   And I learn it even more because when i follow the precepts taught in the Book of Mormon, I see even more blessings in my life.  That's the beauty of God, if you have a question, just ask Him! He'll answer.  James Chapter 1, verse 5. And 6 too, that one's important.

Hey everyone! This week has been a spiritual strengthening one for sure.  On Sunday I got to sing with the MTC Choir as backup for the Nashville Tribute Band.  They sing gospel songs, like LDS gospel, and they're super country.  But their message is one that relates to any religion so y'all should look them up and listen to some!   The spiritual strengthening part of my week goes as thus: I've started holding myself accountable to Heavenly Father.  Like at the beginning of each day, in my prayers I'll tell Him my goals for the day,  like "study _____ in my language. Get ____ memorized.  Plan ____ lesson" things like that.  And then at the end of the day, I'll tell Him how I did.  Let me tell you, that's intimidating!  He certainly knows when you aren't living up to your potential.  It's only scary because I can hear Him tell me I didn't do well, and where and how I can do better, when I ask.  But when I do a...

Bastante neve! We woke up and already had more than a foot of snow. Did morning exercises, got ready, and when we started planning we looked at the forecast. It had been snowing all morning and wasn't projected to stop until TOMORROW. Not just snow, but 30-50mph winds. That's a blizzard haha. After we planned (we planned to just shovel snow all day) we spent some time studying. Then around 9:30 we got to work on our driveway. We live with the Tenempaguays (ten-imp-uh-gwaye) and they're really cool members. They're a whole other story. But we got started cleaning their massive driveway...took only about 3 hours :) there was about a foot and a half of snow. Then we hopped in his truck and he took us to their deli they own, and we had lunch there. It was closed, but it's this nice little building called Village Deli. It reminds me of that deli in downtown Swansboro whose name I've forgotten.. but then we cleaned the snow from their deli so they can open tomorrow...

Finished up my split with Elder Myers this morning. We visited this guy during companion study, and man he is cool. But he also has some serious attachment problems and abandonment problems too. We visited Regina, and I had a couple really strong spiritual prompting during our lesson (which was the April 1st presidency message about faith).  She was saying some really rash things like how she doesn’t believe in miracles anymore and this and that. I felt prompted to promise her that if she read the plan of salvation pamphlet, she would understand God’s plan for her. She seemed really taken aback by that and promised she would read because she really doesn’t understand what her plan is. It was cool. We also visited another sister  today. She is a 26 year old member whose husband cheated on her when she was 8 weeks pregnant. She has 2 kids, divorced once, and in the process of getting divorced again. At 26. How difficult.
